A Rich History

Built in 1867 as a train station, the Lambertville Station is a stunning example of historical craftsmanship. In fact, it was designed by Thomas Ustick Walter, the same architect responsible for the Capitol Building Dome in Washington, D.C. The Belvedere Delaware Railroad used the station as its headquarters, serving passengers traveling between Belvedere and Trenton.

In the late 1800s, the PA Railroad took over the line and expanded service to New England. However, as time passed, the changing economy and industrial shifts impacted the Delaware River region.  Because of this, the station was vacant by the 1960s. The building’s windows were boarded shut until the Black River and Western Railroad purchased the rail line in 1976, providing services to local quarries.

Renovation and Modern-Day Charm

In 1981, the current owners of Lambertville Station Inn undertook an extensive renovation of the building, preserving its historical character while incorporating modern amenities. The venue celebrated its 30th anniversary in October 2012. Alongside the restaurant, the inn was constructed, offering 45 beautifully appointed hotel rooms for overnight guests.
